Karlofça & Novi Sad Tour - (75 Euro per person)
We first visit Petrovaradin Fortress in Novi Sad, the capital of the Vojvodina region in northern Serbia. After a photo stop to enjoy the magnificent view of Novi Sad from the fortress, we proceed to the city center. During our walking tour in this city where Albert Einstein once lived, panoramic views will include Liberty Square, the Svetozar Miletić Statue, the Catholic Cathedral, the Orthodox St. George Cathedral, St. Nicholas Church, and the Synagogue. After the tour, we set off to visit Sremski Karlovci (Karlofça), a town that also holds an important place in our history. Dating back to 7000 BC and always significant throughout history, the town was home to the first Serbian middle school and high school. Until 1922, Karlovci served as the center of the Serbian Orthodox Church; other sights here include the City Council, the Catholic Church, and the Four Lions Fountain. The town also holds an important place in Ottoman history due to the Treaty of Karlowitz signed in 1699, which marked the beginning of the decline of the Ottoman Empire and resulted in significant territorial losses. We also visit the Chapel of Peace located on the hill where the treaty was signed. After the free time provided here, we conclude our tour.
After breakfast at our hotel, guests who wish may additionally join the Nikola Tesla Museum & Tito's Mausoleum and Zemun tour.
In this tour, we first visit the Nikola Tesla Museum. The Nikola Tesla Museum, dedicated to the inventor of alternating current and a Serbian scientist, was established in 1952. In this museum, over 160,000 original documents, more than 2,000 books and magazines, numerous photographs, drawings, plans, and instruments are exhibited, telling about Tesla's work and life. To highlight the scientist's contributions to technology, interactive displays are also presented in addition to this collection. Later, we visit the tomb of former Yugoslav President Josip Broz Tito, who was elected President of Yugoslavia on January 13, 1953, transformed Yugoslavia into a Socialist Federal Republic, was appointed president for life in 1974, and passed away in 1980. The mausoleum is located in a white sarcophagus in the center of a single-story building known as the House of Flowers. Here, excerpts from Tito's life and some of his personal belongings are also exhibited. Finally, we set off for Zemun. Throughout history an autonomous city and today part of Belgrade's New Belgrade district, Zemun feels like a different city within the city. Located on the banks of the Danube River opposite Belgrade Fortress, this city is home to Usce Fortress, Gardoš Hill, and Gardoš Tower. Architecturally influenced by Austria, the area with its cobblestone streets and narrow alleys is a pleasant place to spend time. Zemun was once a fishing village, and today the fishing harbors have been restored and converted into restaurants. After our tour, free time is given. Later, transfer back to our hotel. Guests who wish may additionally join the extra organized Serbian Night tour arranged by our guide.
In this tour, we will enjoy famous Serbian meze and dishes while spending a pleasant evening to the sound of local music on Skadarlija, Belgrade's famous bohemian street. After the tour, transfer to the hotel. Overnight at our hotel.
