Clothing: In July, the days in Central and Eastern Anatolia can be hot, while evenings and in high-altitude areas (especially around Kemaliye and Sivas) can be cool. Therefore, you should have layered clothing and a cardigan for the evenings with you.
Footwear: For hiking on rocky paths and canyons, you should definitely prefer non-slip, comfortable sports shoes.
Personal Needs: Don't forget to bring sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, any medications you regularly use, and a portable charger (power bank) to capture the region's unique landscapes.
In the morning, we arrive in Tokat and after a free breakfast break, we start our tour. Our first stop in Tokat, the city that comes to mind when talking about Traditional Printed Fabric Art in Anatolia, is the Tokat Archaeology Museum located at the foot of Tokat Castle. In the Archaeology Museum, where very important artifacts from Anatolian history are exhibited, you will see the traces of modern museology in its arrangement made in chronological order. After our visit to the museum where ethnographic artifacts are also displayed, we reach the Taşhan, known as the Bazaar of the Printmakers. During the free time given, our guests are welcome to explore Taşhan before we head to the Tokat Mevlevihane. We listen to our guide’s explanations about Mevlevi culture and explore the Mevlevihane. Afterward, we leave Tokat and head to Sivas. After a pleasant journey of approximately 1.5 hours, we arrive in Sivas, have our lunch, and start our tour in Sivas. We visit Cumhuriyet Square, Buruciye Medrese, and the Double Minaret Medrese, followed by the Şifahiye Medrese, and then we visit the Sivas Congress Building, which is accepted as the first Grand National Assembly of Turkey, where the foundations of our Republic were laid. After that, we move to our hotel in Sivas, have our dinner, and stay overnight. Breakfast: Will be provided at the designated restaurant or as free time. After having breakfast at our hotel in the morning, we leave Kemaliye and start our journey towards Divriği. On our way, we stop by the point where the famous Kangal Dogs can be found as we pass through Kangal district. After a short journey, we visit the Divriği Great Mosque and Hospital, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List, with the explanations of our guide. Following an enchanting journey through magnificent nature, we reach Kemaliye, where we see the Stone Road, tunnels dug by the local people for 120 years using only picks and shovels for easier access to civilization, and take a photo break. After our photo break, we enjoy the view and, for those interested, we have an optional boat tour at the Dark Canyon. In the morning, after having our breakfast at the hotel, we continue our tour of Kemaliye. Our first stop is Sırakonak Village, one of the oldest settlements in Kemaliye. After our visit to Sırakonak Village with the explanations of our guide, we reach Apçağa Village, the birthplace of Ahmet Kutsi Tecer, who was inspired to write the poem "Orda bir köy var uzakta." This village has been awarded because it has preserved its historical texture without alteration to this day. Following our visit to Apçağa Village, we head to Manili Road, where we read all those longing and love-filled folk songs, and then we descend among the houses with scenic door knockers before visiting the Kemaliye Cultural House. Here, we learn about how a Kemaliye house is organized and what life inside is like. Afterward, we take a break at Lökhane, where syrupy products such as lök (a type of mortar), mulberry, pekmez, bal, and beşateş (a type of molasses) are sold. We then continue our journey to Arapgir, where we have lunch at Çırçır Waterfall before arriving in Elazığ. In Elazığ, we visit the Copper Craftsmen Bazaar, check into our hotel, and have dinner. After having breakfast at our hotel in the morning, we start our tour in Elazığ. We transition to the Harput region to visit the Ulu Mosque, which holds the title of the second most tilted building in the world after the Leaning Tower of Pisa, and we have the opportunity to see its leaning minaret. After visiting the mosque, we view the panoramic Harput Castle, and tour the Arap Baba Tomb and the Coffee Pot Museum. Following our visit to Harput, we leave Elazığ and head towards Malatya. After a short one-hour journey, we arrive in Malatya, have our lunch, and enjoy some free time in Sanat Sokak. Then, we continue our journey and reach the Tohma Canyon, which was formed by geopolitical ruptures, flowing through steep rocky areas. Inside the canyon, we will see the Somuncu Baba Mosque and the Kudret Pool, completing our exploration of the canyon before heading to Kayseri, where we arrive at the hotel in the evening, have dinner, and find accommodation. After having breakfast at the hotel in the morning, we start exploring Kayseri. We enter the Archaeology Museum located within the Kayseri Castle and visit the museum in detail. It is an amazing museum that fascinates its visitors with its size and the artifacts it houses. After exiting the museum, we see the Kayseri Clock Tower and walk towards the Atatürk House. Known as İmamizade Raşit Ağa Mansion and currently serving as the Atatürk House and Museum, this mansion was built in the 19th century and is an old Turkish house from the Late Ottoman period. After visiting the Atatürk House, during the free time we allow you, you will have the opportunity to taste the magnificent flavors of Kayseri cuisine and do some shopping. Following our lunch, we start our journey from Kayseri to Bolu and Düzce, and after a pleasant trip, we drop you off at the points we picked you up from, and we bid farewell with the hope of seeing you on our next tour.
